Non-surgical

Scalp micropigmentation

Follicle-scale pigment that reads as closely cropped hair — for density illusion, scar camouflage, or a deliberate shaved look.

What it does

SMP removes the contrast between pale scalp and darker hair. On a thinning crown that contrast is what makes the area read as bald; shade the skin between the remaining hairs and the same hair suddenly looks like coverage.

On a fully shaved head it recreates the stubble pattern of a fresh buzz cut. On an old donor scar it breaks up the smooth white line so the eye stops finding it.

How a course runs

  1. 1

    Consultation

Pigment colour matched to your hair and skin, hairline shape agreed, number of sessions estimated.

  2. 2

    Treatment sessions

Two to three sittings of two to four hours, spaced a fortnight apart, building density gradually rather than in one pass.

  3. 3

    Aftercare

No washing for several days, no sweating or swimming for a week, sunscreen thereafter.

  4. 4

    Results

Immediate, with colour settling over a fortnight as the pigment heals.

  5. 5

    Maintenance

A top-up every three to five years as pigment lightens with sun exposure.

SMP is not a tattoo

01

Different pigment

Formulated to fade grey rather than turn blue or green as it breaks down.

02

Different depth

Deposited shallower than body ink so dots stay crisp instead of spreading.

03

Different scale

Each deposit is follicle-sized, applied in an irregular pattern that mimics real stubble.

04

Different operator skill

Angle, density and colour matching on a scalp are a specialty; body tattoo experience does not transfer.
